Over the past year, I’ve been on a mission to figure out what your biggest cooking challenges are.
I’ve pored over surveys, polls, and your heartfelt messages to uncover the biggest obstacles holding you back from being the home cook you want to be.
And guess what? It turns out your biggest challenge isn’t following a recipe.
It’s all of the other stuff that goes into getting a delicious meal on the table:
- Sifting through a sea of blog posts, YouTube videos, cookbooks, and Pinterest pages to decide what to cook during the week.
- Crafting an organized shopping list that prevents those aimless grocery store wanderings and impulse purchases.
- Figuring out what you can prep in advance to prevent your weekday evenings from becoming a cooking marathon.
Who has the time for all that?
The solution you’ve been waiting for
That’s why I am thrilled to introduce the brand new Meal Plans by Rainbow Plant Life.
Designed for busy people who value both flavor and eating a wholesome, plant-rich diet, these meal plans aim to eliminate all the friction points that make home cooking a chore rather than a joy.
What you’ll find inside each week’s meal plan:
- Four Seasonal, Flavor-Packed Recipes: Recipes developed by yours truly! Many of the recipes are exclusives you won’t find anywhere else – including my blog and YouTube channel.
- Shared Components: Each week’s recipes contain some shared ingredients, simplifying both grocery shopping and prep (more on that below).
- Complete Grocery Lists: Organized by category with substitutions for allergens and ingredient availability.
- Step-by-Step Meal Prep Instructions: Set aside some time on Sunday for the most high-impact meal prep; set yourself up for a week of culinary success.
- Storage Guides: Know exactly how to keep your prepped and cooked items fresh.
- Emergency Meal Ideas: For those days when you have just five minutes to put dinner on the table.
Everything in these meal plans is crafted to make your life easier and more delicious, and to even save you money.

A quick note of reassurance
Just because I’m offering this new service, it doesn’t mean the Rainbow Plant Life you know and love is going anywhere. I’ll continue to share free recipes through my blog posts and YouTube videos.
And thank you for being a vital part of the Rainbow Plant Life community. I can’t wait for you to experience the future of hassle-free, delicious, and wholesome vegan cooking.
I’m about a month in and have enjoyed the tasty and easy to make recipes. I love the prep section and that a lot of the ingredients are used in multiple recipes, and appreciate the substitution suggestions, too.
One addition I would like to see is the nutritional information for the sauces and dressings included in the nutrition section at the end. I know that information can vary depending on exact ingredients, brands, how they were determined, which is stated, but I feel like what is presented is a bit misleading I’m afraid to say. For example, the romaine and kale salad (Feb 22) says ~94 calories with 8g of fat. The dressing for that salad, tasty as it is, has about 200 calories and about 17g of fat per serving (4 tbsp) between the tahini (365 Organic) and olive oil (Trader Joe’s Organic). It looks like the main dish nutrition information excludes the yummy sauces/dressings, too. Maybe providing the estimates like the main dishes or put an asterisk to show that sauces/dressings were not included in the nutrition information would clarify things a bit.
Hi Elizabeth, we are glad you’re enjoying the meal plans!
And just FYI, I am the person who calculates the nutrition facts and I can assure you the salad dressings and sauces are included in the nutrition info!
I have been enjoying the meal plan service! One comment that I have is that there are a lot of lentil recipes recently. I would love to see a larger variety of protein options like tofu, seitan, edamame, meat substitutes, etc. I also have been really struggling with the amount of time the recipes take. I have very little time on the weekdays, so I do a little more prep on the weekend than you describe in the plan. It can take me three full hours with another person helping on the weekend plus additional time each night. Since I also need to be separately prepping for breakfasts and lunches, I am just running out of time!
Overall I definitely prefer when the meals have more overlap with using the components, so there is less total cooking. You are creative in using the components in different ways, so it doesn’t feel too repetitive! Thank you for your hard work on this!
I agree with your comments, Cas. Though lentils are inexpensive and easy to make they can get a little boring. I started adding tofu or tempeh to some of the recipes to increase the protein content and to mix things up.
Hi Cas, we appreciate the comment! Nisha isn’t a fan of seitan and she doesn’t like using meat substitutes in her daily cooking, but I will pass the message along to the team. Sorry to hear you’re finding the prep a little more difficult than you’d imagined, but it sounds like overall you’re pretty happy with the subscription so we are happy to hear that! :)
So far I love the meal plan! The recipes are well thought through, easy to make and incredibly delicious. And I love that I get to try new recipes each week.
There is one area that could do with improvement though: the portion sizes. Most of the time the recipes are only enough for three meals, not four. Also on several occasions sauces I prepared were not enough, so I had to make some more whilst cooking the dishes, which was a bit stressful.
If this coud be improved, everything would be perfect!
Hi Thea,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. This new service is in its infancy, and we are always looking for ways that we can improve it going forward.
We have noted down your feedback and will definitely discuss it internally as we meet to improve the product. We hope you are still able to enjoy the meal plans. If you have any other feedback or questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to mealplans@rainbowplantlife.com.
I’m struggling with the meal plan. I signed up for a full year, but the Sunday meal prep takes me at least 2-3 hrs. Then each night it takes about 30 minutes (complex with 15+ ingredients per recipe) to execute the meal. My husband complains that all the food is bland and asked me to go back to my usual cooking. I started to double the spices and seasonings hoping it will help. I’m sure some people have the drive, time, and tastes to enjoy this, but I am regretful of diving in for a full year.
Good morning! We signed up for your meal plan subscription and made all three meals and the salad for week one. All of the meals were ah-mazing, loved by kids and adults alike (and we’re not vegan or even vegetarian). Your dishes are just so bright and full of flavor Just wondering when the week two plan will come out? We’re ready:)
Hi Ashlei, I am so happy to hear that you and the fam loved the meals and that you’re excited about the service.
To clarify things, you’re still in your 7-day trial period. During the trial, we send the first meal plan right away because we want to make sure you have a full week to use it. After the trial ends, you’ll start to receive a new meal plan every Thursday at 10 am Eastern Time.
I’m sooo excited for this meal plan!!!!!
When is it going to go live?
We are excited for you! January 1st!! If you are on the waitlist, you’ll be getting an email with sign-up instructions tomorrow (Dec 12/31)!
I tried to sign up for the wait list, but got an error. Can you help?
Hi Danielle, I just signed you up again. Check your email in the next 10 mins or so and let us know if you received anything?
Your new Meal Plans sound amazing and from following you for some time I know I will love the food. Before signing up I will have to work through a personal problem. Since living alone again, I eat what I please when I please and know that if I buy and do a meal prep, at the end of the week, there is a lot of food left over. For instance on Wednesday night, instead of what is prepped I have a craving for grilled tomatoes on toast. I sometimes don’t eat well, having breakfast for dinner or even dessert as main! If you know how to help me, please do.
This is the solution that I have been looking for 4 years, but I’m not an avid cook and am truly lacking in variety and whole food choices. I can’t wait to give your meal plans a go!
We can’t wait for you to try them either, Renee! :)
This cannot come soon enough for me. I am really looking forward to not having to figure this stuff out every week. :-) Everything I have made from your cookbook and blog/YouTube has been amazing- always 5 stars!
Thanks for the lovely review, Krista! We cannot wait to share these with you!
I’ve led a vegan lifestyle for 8 years, feeling more peaceful than I ever have. But the one thing that has always kept me from total contentment is cooking. I comb through recipes and they all sound sooooo delicious but complicated and time consuming. I really want to eat more than PB&J sandwiches and garbanzo bean soups. But now it looks like your Meal Plans by Rainbow Plant Life is going to come to my rescue and be the answer to my procrastination (and the peanut butter stuck to the roof of my mouth. ; )
Your plans sound wonderful. You must be thrilled and overworked at the same time. So much energy goes into a new venture, especially yours, as your dedication to presenting factual, well researched presentations are so evident.
Hi Nisha,
I just discovered your channel. I’ve been vegan for 5.5 years now. My problem is I hate cooking and I’m not very good at it. I’ve no idea what flavours go with what, and I get completely overwhelmed when I try to do better in my food choices. I need and want to eat better. I want to be healthier and find enjoyment in cooking. Your meal plan sounds like just what I need. I’ve become spoilt by batch cooking where now I only need to spend 3 minutes heating preprepared meals but I don’t nly have about 3 go to recipes ( and they’re incredibly basic lol). Looking forward to hearing more about the plan.
Hi Julie, we’re so excited to share these meal plans with you! They will take a bit more time than it sounds like you’re used to cooking, but you’ll get so much more flavor and variety!
Oh gawsh Julie, thanks for your honesty. I had to re-read because it almost looked as if it were me writing these words! 😅 I feel exactly the same as you! But, don’t give up! Thanks to Kaitlin, we are not a lost cause; I guess it may just take us a little longer to catch up but we’re only competing with ourselves 🙏🏽😃💕.
You are definitely not a lost cause, Lore! We promise these meal plans are easily digestible and make cooking fun, without requiring you to spend all of your free time in the kitchen!
Hi, Nisha – thank you for doing good in the world. A friend of Vegans years ago, I used to peel mountains of shallots for some curried extravaganza & my smiling Vegan friend would say to me, as a Carnivore, “You just haven’t had your moment of enlightenment yet”
Perhaps, your meal plans will help my path!
Hi Nel, thank you for the kind comment! We’re so happy to provide vegan recipes to all :) And we definitely hope you have the chance to try out these meal plans and they make a positive difference in your life!
Woohoo! I’ve been excited about this since I saw the YouTube video last month. I can’t wait for this to go live so I can finally purchase it!
We are just as excited as you for the meal plans to be released, Olivia! Thanks for the kind words :)
